German Street Scenes

No deep dive with this post into what I am seeing in these post card pictures though I have no doubt I could spend hours doing so. I just selected these as being interesting street scenes with incredible detail and a delight for my eyes to look out when enlarged. Hopefully you might enjoy them too.

  2. How ornate everything was back then! I'm not sure modernism did us any favors in terms of beauty.

    1. In Berlin’s case, the upcoming war certainly didn’t help either.

  3. Interesting! Are they all Berlin? I'm sure so much of that architecture was ultimately destroyed in the world wars.

    1. I’m assuming most are Berlin and thus guess your assumption is correct. Perhaps in the future I’ll have the time to do them justice and research each one but until then, they’ve been posted for others to enjoy.

  5. Something cool about these old places is that even in modern day, many of the buildings haven't changed much.

    1. I suspect none of these buildings exist anymore due to war and that is such a shame.

  6. My son lived in Berlin for a couple of years and he always would tell me to come because I would love the architecture and "oldness" of the city. I never did visit because the comfort of home keeps me here. So I do enjoy photos of the travels and trove of others!

    1. I have never been to Berlin and have only been to Germany via airport connections. Someday I would like to go to the birthplace of my third great grandfather.
