On Vacation

As the title suggests, we are on a vacation somewhere out there in the great beyond. We have a general idea of where we might go but no set agenda, my favorite kind of vacation. It is also a non-traditional area of our country to go to on vacation and since I have only driven through the outskirts of the area a handful of times in my life, I would like to fill in the white space of my mental map. This time, unlike other times in the past, I do have a pad device so I might check into your blogs while out and about but I'm not about to type a post into the pad (especially since I don't have any auxiliary keyboard devices) and so my blog will remain dark and shuttered for a time.

There is war and atrocities being committed in Ukraine. I hope they are resolved during the next 9 or so days that I will be unplugged from the news cycle. It would be nice to come back and know the news is about sillier things, like what one side is sticking it to the other in Congress. Also, because March came in so mildly, we've been getting our nether regions handed to us by mother nature with lots of snow, a handful of tornados and a thermometer with more movement than a yo-yo in a yo-yo contest. Hopefully that works itself out too before I get back.

Until then...

  1. Enjoy your vacation Ed! I am hopeful you have a wonderful vacation and experience none of the bad weather you have been experiencing at home recently.

  2. Have a good vacay, which is the new kidspeak for vacation.

I have given up on avoiding the terminal preposition. You can twist your sentence into pretzels trying to avoid them, and it just doesn’t sound right.

  3. Have fun! I look forward to hearing about it when you return.

  5. Have you ever been to Nebraska? I would assume you have, since it's pretty close to you. Nobody I know of thinks about Nebraska as a road trip, but there are lots of interesting things to do and see there.

  7. Have a wonderful time! You seem like someone who can find interesting activities and information wherever you go. I am that type also; I can appreciate the beauty of just about anyplace. (even if I wouldn't want to live there, like Los Angeles for example) The weather has been atrocious where you are. As you know, I follow that area because my daughter's in-laws live there. (and son-in-law used to)

  8. Have a great time, Ed. It's really nice to get away. We have something in the works later too... although I don't know if it will really happen. It will be good for you to enjoy yourselves and take time away from the madness.

  12. Have a safe and fun trip. Hopefully the war will be over, but I wouldn't count on it. Even if it is, there will be another one... When will we ever learn?

  13. Safe travels, Ed, and enjoy your agenda-less vacation.
