New Mysterious Disappearing Post

I wrote a post that was published yesterday but discovered it wasn’t showing up in blogrolls. So evidently Blogger decided it was not worthy or it had to do when I wrote it several days ago and me fat fingering things and accidentally posting it a month back. I discovered my mistake immediately when it appeared to disappear into thin air so I went back and corrected it to publish yesterday which it did. However, a bug was created so that it now doesn’t show up in blog rolls.

So to stick it to blogger I’m writing a new post and linking the old post below. Take that Blogger!

  1. Ed I had this exact problem once as well, when I tried to bring a slightly older blog to the forefront with an updated date. It would not show as new on others blogs. Looks like you find a good work around here! 👏👏

    1. I'm glad you brought it up because I hadn't put two and two together yet. I had noticed several people who normally comment on every post coming on and only commenting on the previous post and not the latest post. It struck me as odd but I just pushed it aside thinking it was because book writing just didn't interest them. Your comment made me realize what was happening and I tried several times to fix the original post so that it would show up but finally just gave up and went with this solution. I need to be more careful when selecting my publishing dates to make sure they are in the future and that I hadn't accidentally slipped back a month as I did with the post in question..

  3. I saw it in my Bloglovin' app but was that when you republished? I'm so confused. (my natural state!) :)

    1. Doug pointed out this morning that it wasn't showing up in his blogroll so he just checked anyway since I normally post on Friday. I checked and saw that indeed it wasn't showing up in blogrolls so I attempted to put it back in draft status and republish it using a time this morning. That didn't seem to fix it so I just wrote this post with the link. Maybe there is a time element between publishing and showing up in blogrolls that hadn't yet been exceeded when I wrote this post and that it might be showing up now.

I do know that this is the post I accidently posted a month behind the actual day by accident and then corrected it on Wednesday so that it would publish on Friday, which it did, just not being listed in blogrolls. All my other posts, which I haven't made the same mistake on, have been posting just fine.

  5. I saw it in my Bloglovin' reader yesterday morning, but wondered later in the day why I was the only commenter. I'm usually late to the party.

    1. What was strange for me were all the people who stopped by and didn't comment on it but left a comment on the post before that.
