A Posh Courtyard

Scene from the hotel courtyard that I stayed in for two nights on my business trip to California this past summer. (I really need to clean the pictures out my camera more often.) The work that I was doing was very manual and very dirty and I would feel out of place walking through this very posh courtyard at the end of the day to get to my room. But after a shower and some clean clothes, it was very nice to enjoy.

And partly because my camera is now empty, I'm off starting tomorrow to attend a wedding in Alabama this weekend and likely will fill it up again. My posts will continue coming but it might explain my lack of answering or leaving comments. I'll be back towards the middle of next week.

Safe trip to Alabama.

As for the courtyard, looks nice. Nothing like an expense account, eh?

Cheers.

R. Sherman - As part owner of my company, I have to set the record straight. This place was actually the cheapest place I stayed in all week the rest being Holiday Inn Express motels that averaged around $110 per night. This one was just across from the airport in Orange county airport and I think was $90. That is one of the reasons I took a picture because I had never stayed in a place that looked like that for that price at least in today's dollars. It doesn't seem that long ago when I thought $30 a night was getting up there and $19.99 used to be the norm.

I also am a business owner and my partners and I joke, "If the firm pays, it's free."

Cheers.

That is a nice looking place and the price sounds pretty good

Is your brother getting married?

Be careful about leaving pics on your camera too long. I mislaid a camera and lost almost all of the shots I took on our Alaska cruise. I am still kicking my self periodically about that, and you can be sure that it won't hapen again.

Did you take Murf with you so that she might salivate over some southern accents?

Hi Ed, Just stopping by to say I enjoyed the Where Was I post. Also, When the Doorbell rang in the Middle of the Night. It happened to us few times in Dallas, TX. We did not open the door. It's kind of scary esp. in big city like Dallas.

TC - No! Can you believe it?

Sage - The scenery by the pool was better in the evenings.

Murf - Yep.

Three Score - I figure that will happen to me someday, kind of like hitting a deer on the highway here in Iowa. It's not a matter of if but when.

TC - I didn't. I thought it might be kind of awkward with my wife along too.

Malor - Another reason I am a small town kind of guy.

Murf - I'm writing this in Nashville. Should I turn around and go back? Not sure I can make it up to Michigan and back to Alabama before I'm due tomorrow for the pre-wedding dinner. Raincheck?

Rain check it is. Everyone here is a witness! Also, I'm sure your wife also enjoys a nice southern accent so she wouldn't be feeling awkward. You might though. ;-)
